Is Summer the Best Time for Home Improvement?

The dog days of summer in Edmonton are upon us, and while for many that means relaxing in the yard and generally enjoying a slower pace of life, for parging contractors and other home improvement specialists, it means it’s the busiest time of year. If you are feeling as though you have missed the boat because summer is nearly over, we have some good news for you! There are many home improvement projects, including new parging, that can be done well into the fall.

Fall Parging Applications

While it’s true that most parging jobs are done in the spring and summer, you still have (some) time left this year! That’s right — it’s possible to have your parging repair done in the fall. To properly cure, all a parge coat needs is dry conditions and a few days where the temperature is consistently above 5C. That means a parging project can be completed well into the autumn months — even in Edmonton!

Fall Home Improvement Projects

Of course, there are also a number of other home maintenance projects that can be taken care of in the fall and winter months, like painting and decorating and other indoor projects. However, we feel it’s important to take care of things outside while you still can. Pay close attention to lawn maintenance if you want to get a head start on next year’s greenery.
