Built Around One Specialty: Parging
J and J Coatings was founded in Edmonton in 2007 by Jeff MacLeod and Josh Hallen. The company was built around a simple idea: focus on foundation parging, learn the work in depth, and provide a consistent professional service rather than treating parging as an occasional add-on to a long list of unrelated trades.
Today our crews complete parging repair, full foundation renewal, new foundation parging, ICF parging and commercial or multi-family projects throughout Edmonton and surrounding communities. With more than 10,000 parging projects completed, we have worked on everything from small localized repairs to repeat builder work and larger multi-building projects.

How We Approach the Work
Parging is an exterior finish, and a durable result depends heavily on what is underneath it. We assess the existing bond, substrate, cracking, previous repairs, grade conditions and transitions before recommending the scope. Loose and delaminated parging is removed. Sound, well-bonded material is not removed unnecessarily when it remains a suitable base after proper preparation.
We use cementitious parging materials, compatible bonding products and reinforcement methods selected for the actual substrate. ICF and framed transitions require different preparation than conventional concrete or masonry, and we account for those differences in the scope.
What Parging Is Not
We also believe in being clear about the limits of the work. Parging is not a structural foundation repair, crack-injection system, below-grade waterproofing system or a substitute for correcting drainage and grading problems. When we see an issue that falls outside the parging scope, we explain it rather than presenting the finish coat as a cure for something it cannot correct.
30-Year Transferable Warranty
Qualifying parging work is backed by our 30-year transferable written warranty, subject to the warranty terms and exclusions. Structural movement, drainage conditions and other causes outside the parging system are addressed in the written warranty.
Safety and Professional Standards
J and J Coatings maintains WCB coverage and works with the safety requirements applicable to our residential, builder and commercial projects. Our crews are accustomed to working around occupied homes, active construction sites and multi-family properties where coordination and cleanup matter just as much as the finished surface.

We serve Edmonton, St. Albert, Sherwood Park, Spruce Grove, Leduc, Beaumont, Fort Saskatchewan and surrounding communities. Projects farther outside the core service area may also be considered depending on the size and scope.
